Returns and Refunds

At Thrifty Engines Inc., we are committed to ensuring a hassle-free experience for every customer. Our warranty policy provides returns and refunds if you receive defective or incorrect merchandise. We’ve designed our warranty process to be smooth and efficient, addressing any queries or complaints promptly to keep your experience seamless.

Before you initiate a warranty claim, please make sure that all the preinstallation checks (as discussed under the warranty page) were followed at the time of installation because that can eliminate most of the common issues.

Requirements for submitting a warranty return claim

A valid proof of the issue (pictures, videos, etc.) showing our STOCK# on them so we know that the issue belongs to our engine or transmission.

A diagnostic report from a certified mechanic that narrows down the issue to the engine or transmission in question.

Installation receipt showing that our preinstallation guide was followed and that a new water pump was installed at the time of installing the engine.

Pictures of the heat tabs (required for specific issues)

Note: Please provide the documents exactly as requested for us to promptly resolve your issue!

On successful submission of all the above documents, our warranty team will review the claim and share the final update as soon as possible.

Once your claim is approved, we will provide a BOL (bill of lading) for the pickup of the defective merchandise that needs to be printed out and shown to the driver at the time of pickup.

Once we receive the merchandise, we will initiate the replacement/refund as per the requirement. Shipping costs for warranty-approved returns are covered by us. In order to eliminate any extra charges to you while dealing with a return, please make sure of the following:

  • Get the BOL(Bill of lading) shared by the support team printed out immediately and make it available at the pickup location. If the driver doesn’t see the physical copy, they will refuse to pick up the defective product and incur extra costs for a dry run and reattempt.
  • The engine should be on a wooden pallet and strapped firmly in the same condition as it was sent to you. Carriers do not pick up products that are not well strapped to make sure they are received without damage. Any dry run will incur extra cost.

In case of replacement, we will take 3-5 business days to ship the replacement after the defective one has been picked up.

In the case of a refund, it will take 3-5 business days (excluding holidays and weekends) to process the refund to your source account after the defective item has been picked up.

(Defective merchandise must be picked prior to the replacement shipment/refund initiation.)

Shipping Policy:
  • We generally ship orders within 3-5 business days. There could sometimes be delays because of unforeseen circumstances. We will keep you well informed.
  • Please never refuse a shipment. For any issue, we can always pick it up at no cost to you. Refusing a shipment may incur a round-trip shipping fee on you.
  • If you still had to refuse it because the product was damaged in the shipping process. Please note the damage in the delivery receipt provided by the driver so we can file an insurance claim with the carrier within their 48-hour deadline.
