At ThriftyEngines.com, we take pride in offering exceptional warranties for our engines and transmissions, ensuring our customers feel secure and confident in every purchase. Below are the details of our warranty policies:

Engine Warranty Policies

Standard Free Warranty

For engines manufactured:
  • Before 1990: 1-month replacement and return warranty.
  • From 1991 to 2000: 3-month replacement and return warranty.
  • From 2001 to 2025: 6-month replacement and return warranty.

Warranty Terms

Pre-installation Checks:Follow our pre-installation checklist to validate your warranty.

7-Day returns:Physical damage or visible issues must be reported within 7 days of delivery.

Upto 3 years warranty:After 7 days, a warranty return claim must be initiated with a diagnostic report and other relevant proof of the issue.

30-day installation concerns:All issues identified during installation must be reported within 30 days of delivery.

Labor Exclusions:Warranty covers parts only; labor charges are excluded unless specified in writing or additionally paid for.

Warranty Coverage:Our warranty covers only essential internal engine components, including blocks, heads, pistons, crankshafts, camshafts, and other key internal parts. Additional parts like sensors, switches, belts, hoses, manifolds, water pumps, oil pans, gaskets, turbos, etc. are included for free for your convenience but are not covered under warranty. If required, these outer accessories should be swapped from your original engine.

Conditions That Void the Warranty

  • Failure to follow the pre-installation guide (keep installation receipts).
  • Overheating or insufficient lubrication damage.
  • Unauthorized repairs or modifications.
  • Missing or damaged heat tabs.
  • Failure to exhaust complete troubleshooting steps to isolate that issue is because of the merchandise.
  • The returned merchandise is not in the original condition as it was delivered.
  • A new water pump is not installed at the time of installing the engine (Keep purchase and install receipts.)
  • Keeping defective merchandise for more than 30 days can eliminate all chances of its revival, hence voiding the warranty. So please contact us as soon as you have identified an issue.

Returns and Replacements

  • Shipping costs for warranty-approved returns are covered by us.
  • We deserve at least one opportunity to resolve any issue. Denying a warranty replacement on an approved warranty claim on the first instance incurs a 20% restocking fee.
  • Cancellation of a fresh order after 24 hours incurs a 20% restocking fee along with round-trip shipping cost if the order has also been shipped out.

Transmission Warranty Policies

Standard Warranty

All transmissions come with the same coverage terms as engines based on their manufacturing year.

Mandatory Installation Guidelines

To maintain your warranty validity, follow these steps:

  • Component Replacement: Install a new filter, pan gasket, and front seal.
  • Torque Converter: Ensure the torque converter is properly seated.
  • Cooler and Line Flush: Flush coolers and lines thoroughly before adding manufacturer-approved fluid.
  • Error Code Management: Clear existing error codes and provide new codes for warranty claims.
  • Reprogramming: Some vehicles require reprogramming of the computer after installation.
CVT Transmissions

For CVT transmissions, additional steps include:

  • Replace Transmission Controller: Mandatory for proper operation.
  • Use OEM Fluid Only: Always use OEM fluid, such as genuine Nissan fluid for Nissan CVTs.
  • Follow Manufacturer Instructions: Refer to the manufacturer’s installation guidelines.

Conditions That Void the Warranty

  • Overheating or lubrication damage.
  • Failure to perform required reprogramming.
  • Use of non-OEM fluid.
  • Modifying or returning the transmission in a condition different from how it was received.

Returns and Replacements

  • Transmission must be inspected in the vehicle before return authorization is issued.
  • Warranty-approved returns will have shipping costs covered by us.

Additional Terms and Conditions

Exclusions:Warranty does not cover labor costs, towing fees, transportation, or any direct/indirect damages resulting from a defect, any misuse or accidental issues, electrical and electronic issues, oil leaks/damage to engines or transmissions due to non-replaced seals, gaskets, or filters.

Compatibility:< OEM auto parts are crafted to seamlessly fit various years, makes, and models, making them an exact match for numerous vehicles based on OEM standards. We guarantee that the part you purchase from us will be a perfect fit for your vehicle, no matter the year, make, or model it was originally installed in.

Regular Maintenance: Please do all regular maintenance checks of your vehicle/engine as per the manufacturer's recommendation to keep the warranty of your product valid.
